AI is transforming every industry. The students who stand out will be those who know how to turn AI technology into creative, practical solutions.

The AI & Innovation Frontier Program brings together artificial intelligence, Silicon Valley–style innovation, and hands-on learning in an exciting four-day experience organized by UC Riverside Extension.

Go beyond ChatGPT. Explore AI technology. Develop an innovation project. Pitch your ideas to industry professionals.

More Than an AI Coding Camp

Most AI programs teach students how to use technology.

This program challenges students to think about what they can create with it.

Through practical activities, industry applications, and a team-based innovation challenge, students will explore how AI is changing business, finance, healthcare, creative industries, and beyond.

They will learn to approach problems like innovators, explore solutions like AI engineers, and communicate ideas like entrepreneurs.

What Makes This Program Different?

01 · Silicon Valley–Style Innovation

Learn how entrepreneurs identify real-world challenges and develop AI-powered solutions. Explore innovation strategies with guidance from California-based entrepreneurial mentors and AI engineers.

02 · Hands-On Generative AI

Go beyond basic prompts. Explore tools such as ChatGPT API, Midjourney, and open-source large language models while learning how AI applications are developed.

03 · AI Across Industries

Discover how artificial intelligence is transforming business, finance, healthcare, creative industries, and sustainable technology.

04 · AI Innovation Challenge

Work with a team to develop an AI-based solution to a real-world problem. Turn your concept into a structured innovation proposal.

05 · Capstone Demo Pitch

Present your team's AI innovation proposal to industry professionals, who will evaluate the projects and select the strongest concept.

One program. Technology, creativity, teamwork, and innovation.

From AI Knowledge to an Innovation Project

In just four days, students will explore:

AI & Machine Learning: Understand the technology behind modern artificial intelligence.
Generative AI & LLMs: Discover how tools like ChatGPT work and how they can be applied.
Data & AI Applications: Explore data preparation, predictive models, and practical AI tools.
Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Learn how to identify problems and develop AI-powered ideas.
Professional Pitching: Collaborate on a capstone project and present an innovation proposal.

The Final Experience: AI Innovation Challenge

Identify a Problem → Design an AI Solution → Build Your Proposal → Pitch Your Innovation

Students finish the program with experience developing and presenting a team-based AI innovation concept.
